Two Steps to Avoid Getting Into Debt

1. Live within your means:

• Track your spending weekly, meet with your partner weekly to review spending, and then summarize monthly:
• You’ll know how much your spending each month
• You’ll see how that compares to your income
• You’ll better manage your day to day expenses
• You’ll have a conversation each week with your partner about how to handle your expenses so expenses are less than your income
• Don’t use your credit cards

     2.  Pay cash or use a debit card for all your purchases


Take Action:

• If you're not already tracking your daily spending, grab a notebook or use your smartphone to note at the time of purchase what you're spending your money on
• If you have a partner, get a meeting on the calendar this week to sit down and talk about tracking daily expenses and how you can both work to stay within your income
• Think about how you can drive more income into your household so you can feel free-er about your spending and fund your dreams!
