Three more challenges from people who had completed the estate planning process:

• · Getting through process of completing our will

• · Getting hung up on the details, predicting the future, was overwhelming

• · Having “boiler plate” legal documents that are less personalized

And some challenges expressed by heirs who had been involved in the process of settling a parent's estate:

• One thing my parents could have done was explicitly state who was to receive items such as particular pieces of furniture, porcelain, silver, etc. while they were still alive or left instructions to sell those items.

• Dad wanted to plan out his funeral and I always discouraged him. Now I wish I had let him and it would have made that job easier!
